For sale is a rare and exceptional First hardcover Edition, First Printing of The Mixture As Before by W. Somerset Maugham in a new archival wrap. First Edition stated 1940 Doubleday Doran.
The exterior of the book is in Very Good with clean, bright boards with a strong sheen, strong title gilt on a tilted spine, a tight binding, lightly rolled spine ends, mild edge wear and lightly rounded corners. No other marks or inscriptions inside. The front end paper and the inside pages are clean and lightly toned.
The un-clipped dust jacket is in Very Good condition with mild surface wear, heavy edge wear with chips, gaps and tears, and light toning and no stains to the inner surface. The dust jacket is a first issue with $2.50 price on the front flap. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.
