Description

For sale: a Rare first edition, first printing hardcover copy of V. by Thomas Pynchon. First Edition unstated, 1964 Little Brown. First Printing with no subsequent printing. Ex-Library with minimal external signs.

The exterior of the book is in Good condition with bright, cloth boards with a few spots and a letter P inked on the spine and one tape stain on the front board. Also, faded title ink on a sunned spine, a large remainder mark on the top page block, tight binding, mild spine tilt, heavy edge wear, and rubbed corners. The interior of the book is in Good condition with the rear free end paper removed and multiple ink stamp dates on the first free end paper. The dust jacket is in Very Good condition with mild surface wear, paper residue from the removed spine label, and the retail price cut from the front flap. Looks great in a new Brodart archival wrap.

Pynchon’s debut novel follows discharged Navy sailor Benny Profane as he reconnects with an eclectic collection of artists in New York known as the “Whole Sick Crew” along with his sidekick Pig Bodine, and the plot of Herbert Stencil, looking to find the woman he knows only as she is described in his father’s diary: “V.”

Ships promptly in a secure mailer with the book wrapped in both craft paper and bubble wrap.
